So today started off the 2017 second hand challenge well! It's my last day off before I go back to work so I thought I would pop to a few charity shops to see what I could find, and I got very lucky! Charity shops are great in January because I think a lot of people either get rid of unwanted gifts or have clear outs to start off the new year fresh! And we get to pick up all their goodies!
Oxfam was my favourite today! All ladies clothing was £1! Which was amazing! Even if I hadn't have found anything branded, any clothing at £1 is pretty good! But I did find some decent brands!
The first thing I picked up was a bright blue wooly Jack Wills jumper, and when I found it I got so excited! It's beautiful! I have tried to look for a price for the original but it's a few years old so no longer sold.
It's supposed to be a size 8, and usually I'm 12/14 but it fits me fine, probably less baggier than it's supposed to be! You can't let sizes in charity shops put you off, if it looks like it will fit, it probably will, but if in doubt try it on :)
Right next to this beautiful jumper was a yellow Animal hoodie! It'sin great condition, and so soft inside! It's xl so oversized for me so perfect for chilling around the house in! I am actually wearing in right now, and don't want to ever take it off! I remember when I was younger at college,I always wanted an Animal hoodie and said that when I got money I would get one straight away, and I never did! This one isn't on the website, it's probably an old one but their hoodies are usually around £40-£50 and ofcourse I got this for £1!
The last piece of clothing I found in Oxfam was a lilac coat originally Primark. I just thought this was quite simple and smart and the colour was really cute too, and for £1 you can't really go wrong can you! I am slowly building my coat collection, and thought this would be a good addition!
The last thing I picked up from Oxfam was a box of cat toys from 'The Natural Pet Company'I couldn't resist it! There are so many toys in it and they all look well made, and not cheap and plastic and Lola is already very impressed with them! She probably didn't need any more toys but now she has a choice... They are selling it on their amazon for £14.95 and I got it for £3.99!
Another Charity shop I found some goodies in was Cancer Research UK. I usually find some good bits in there. It's only quite a small one but if you properly hunt you'll usually find something good! The first thing I saw straight away when I walked through the door was a gorgeous vintage black wooly jumper with red blue and white flowers! It's so cute! I love my patterned jumpers so this is perfect! And was only £2.60!
I then found a little square canvas with beach huts on it which I have put on our bathroom wall! We were looking for one exactly like this but couldn't find anything we liked, or they were too expensive. This was £2!
The last thing I found was actually on a display but I grabbed it off the mannequin head! It's a gorgeous stripey multi-coloured scarf originally from Gap and was £4! It's so cute and I can't wait to wrap up with it for a wintery walk!
Well today was a pretty successful start to 2017's second hand challenge! Hopefully I'll be back soon with some more goodies!
